Winning Sweeps Coins isn't the same as having a prize. Four things have to happen first. Your coins must be eligible, your account must be verified, your balance must reach the operator's minimum, and the operator must approve the request. Here's how each step works across the casinos we track.
1. Your coins must be redeemable
Promotional Sweeps Coins (from sign-up, daily bonuses or mail-in requests) usually have to be played through at least once in a sweepstakes game before anything they win becomes redeemable. Some bonuses carry a higher multiplier. The casino's redemption screen shows how much of your balance you can redeem right now.
2. Verify your identity
Plan on verifying your identity before your first redemption. 31 of the casinos we've verified say outright that verification must be complete before any prize is processed. Typical requests:
- a government photo ID,
- proof of address issued in the last 90 days (utility bill or bank statement),
- sometimes a selfie, bank statement or proof of the payment method you used.
Verification confirms your age, that you're in a permitted state, and that you have only one account. Doing it early means it won't hold up your first redemption later.
3. Reach the minimum
Every operator sets a minimum redemption. Here's the spread across the casinos we track:
- Cash prizes: 20–100 SC (median 100 SC), from the 73 operators that publish a figure.
- Gift cards: 10–100 SC, where a separate gift-card minimum is offered.
Some operators also cap redemptions per day or per request, and a few set per-play maximums for Florida residents. The lowest redemption minimums list has the current ranking.
4. Choose a method and wait for approval
The common methods are bank transfer (ACH, or instant bank transfer, often via Trustly), Skrill and gift cards (often via Prizeout). Some operators also pay in crypto or by Venmo. A few only let you redeem to the method you used to buy coins.
After you submit, the operator reviews the request. Stated timelines run from minutes (crypto, instant bank transfer) to 1–5 business days for bank transfers, and some rules allow up to 10 or even 30 days. Redemptions are generally processed on business days only.
Fees
Many operators don't publish a redemption fee. Some state one, such as a percentage on instant debit-card or crypto payouts, and payment providers can add their own charges. We record fees only where the operator discloses them.
Can a redemption be refused?
Yes, under the operator's rules. Typical reasons include being in an excluded state, holding more than one account, using someone else's payment method, or not finishing verification. The time to read those rules is before you play, not after you win.
