Where you can play for prizes

State by state there’s no difference. Each covers the same 36 of 51 jurisdictions. We start from each site’s excluded-states list, then remove any state where the law bans sweepstakes play.

RealPrize and UptownSweeps are both closed in 15 places, from California to Washington.

RealPrize and UptownSweeps both still list Indiana, Maine and Utah as open, and RealPrize’s also shows California, Delaware, Louisiana, New Jersey and Tennessee. A state ban or regulator action overrides that, so they count as closed here.

Redemption rules

Cash prizes start at 100 SC at either site. RealPrize also offers gift cards from 45 SC. At RealPrize, a gift card is the lower bar to a prize.

RealPrize’s options are cash and gift cards. UptownSweeps’ options are ACH bank transfer.

RealPrize doesn’t state a processing time in what we’ve verified. For UptownSweeps, the stated timing is: up to 15 business days after approval and verification.

Each requires Sweeps Coins to be played through 1x before they can be redeemed. RealPrize says it may require more. UptownSweeps’ rules allow it to require up to 20x. UptownSweeps values 1 SC at $1 in prizes.

Free ways to play

RealPrize takes mail-in requests at 1 SC each. You write out a request on a 4x6 card and post it in a #10 envelope. We haven’t verified a mail-in entry for UptownSweeps.

Gold Coin purchases

We’ve verified RealPrize’s purchase methods (credit or debit card and Skrill), not UptownSweeps’. A Gold Coin package is never required, and only Sweeps Coins can be redeemed anyway.
